Wayne Re, Winemaker
For years, Winemaker Wayne Re and Garré owner Bob Molinaro made wine in Wayne's garage, using recipes and informal knowledge passed onto both Bob and Wayne through generations of family winemakers. Wayne loves the art of making wine and continues to produce his own labels, while staying with Garré as Winemaker and our Resident Bocce Captain.

In order to ensure the integrity of the process, our winemakers oversee wine production from grape to glass, adhering to industry best practices every step of the way. Our wines are produced almost exclusively from grapes grown on the vineyard's 20 acres, and all our wines are aged to perfection in traditional oak barrels before thoughtfully crafted into award-winning wines. We harvest, crush, and bottle our own wine, emphasizing estate grown varietals.
Garré produces 2500 cases a year from the winery's 20 acres, focusing on small lots of high quality wine and unique blends. In years past, Garre focused almost exclusively on Merlot, but found that customers preferred more variety and our winemakers wanted to take greater advantage of the unique soil and climactic properties the region offers, thus began planting new varietals and creating new blends. Today Garré offers a dozen different labels of various blends in addition to the straight varietal, and has added several new varietals as well.

Extremely uncommon outside the Bordeaux Region of France, the particular combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Petite Verdot are known within the wine community as the coveted "Bordeaux Blends." There are only a handful of wineries in all of California that grow this particular combination — among them is Garré. With these five varietals, several blends and variations can be made, creating smaller lots of unique, high end wines that are well regarded within the wine community. Garré has planted these 5 varietals and will begin producing these renowned blends within the next few years.
